Pentagon Admits Secret Program AATIP Investigated UFOs | The Basement Office | New York Post

https://nypost.com/2019/05/22/the-pentagon-finally-admits-it-investigates-ufos/

The Pentagon has finally uttered the words it always avoided when discussing the possible existence of UFOs — “unidentified aerial phenomena” — and admits that it still investigates reports of them.

In a statement provided exclusively to The Post, a Department of Defense spokesman said a secret government initiative called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program “did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.”

And while the DOD says it shut down the AATIP in 2012, spokesman Christopher Sherwood acknowledged that the department still investigates claimed sightings of alien spacecraft.

“The Department of Defense is always concerned about maintaining positive identification of all aircraft in our operating environment, as well as identifying any foreign capability that may be a threat to the homeland,” Sherwood said.

“The department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures, reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries.”

Nick Pope, who secretly investigated UFOs for the British government during the 1990s, called the DOD’s comments a “bombshell revelation.”

Pope, a former UK defense official-turned-author, said, “Previous official statements were ambiguous and left the door open to the possibility that AATIP was simply concerned with next-generation aviation threats from aircraft, missiles and drones — as skeptics claimed.

“This new admission makes it clear that they really did study what the public would call ‘UFOs,’ ” he said.

“It also shows the British influence, because UAP was the term we used in the Ministry of Defence to get away from the pop culture baggage that came with the term ‘UFO.’ ”

John Greenewald Jr. — whose website The Black Vault archives declassified government documents on UFO reports, “Bigfoot” sightings and other subjects — also called the Pentagon’s use of the term “unidentified aerial phenomena” unprecedented in its frankness.

“I’m shocked they said it that way, and the reason is, is they’ve seemingly worked very hard not to say that,” he said.

US Navy creating new guidelines for reporting UFOs
“So I think that’s a pretty powerful statement because now we have actual evidence — official evidence — that said, ‘Yes, AATIP did deal with UAP cases, phenomena, videos, photos, whatever.'”

Greenewald said he hopes that the Pentagon will release more information about the AATIP, either by voluntary disclosure or through requests under the federal Freedom of Information Act.

“But at least we’re one step closer to the truth,” he said.

The existence of the AATIP was revealed in 2017, along with a 33-second DOD video that shows an airborne object being chased by two Navy jets off the coast of San Diego in 2004.

At the time, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) took credit for arranging $22 million in annual funding for the AATIP, telling the New York Times that it was “one of the good things I did in my congressional service.”

Reid’s home state of Nevada hosts the top-secret military installation known as “Area 51,” long rumored to be the storehouse for an alien craft that crashed in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.

Reid, through a spokeswoman, declined to comment.

But first, New York Post producer Steven Greenstreet spoke with John Greenewald, Jr., founder of TheBlackVault.com, about the exciting development.

Religious Leaders Pray for the Knicks to Get Zion Williamson | #PrayForZion | New York Post Sports

https://nypost.com/2019/05/13/nba-draft-lottery-rabbis-and-witches-praying-knicks-land-zion-williamson/

On Tuesday night, the Knicks will learn their place in the NBA draft lottery. With a No. 1 pick, they’d get Duke superstar Zion Williamson, as well as a commodity the team’s fans rarely have enjoyed: hope.

But these are the Knicks we’re talking about — luck is as rare as a playoff appearance. It’s time to invoke higher powers.

The Knicks need all the help they can get, considering their history since the last time the team won the lottery and picked Patrick Ewing No. 1 overall in 1985. Ewing led the team to 13 straight playoff appearances, including two trips to the NBA Finals, but they still haven’t won a championship since 1973. They haven’t even made the postseason for the past six years, all losing seasons, and they have won only one playoff series since Ewing left in 2000.

Lottery-wise, the Knicks have never moved up in the draft order at all after 1985’s jackpot. In the nine times the Knicks have played poorly enough to be in the lottery since 1985, they have yet to land a franchise-changing player. And no matter how many free agents they have signed, head coaches they have shuffled through, or front-office executives they have put in charge, the team has been a franchise beset by negativity.

The Post figured it’s time to ask a higher power for help with the pingpong balls Tuesday night.

A rabbi, a priest, a miracle healer and medical medium, a shaman, a member of the Eckankar clergy and two witches all came to the Garden in recent days. What ensued was a mix of blessings, cleansings and other-worldly manifestations in an attempt to reverse the Knicks’ fortunes.

Five lit candles sat on the sidewalk on the corner of 32nd Street and Seventh Avenue. In the middle was a small cauldron and a pentacle, a metal disk inscribed with a star — all of it facing north, as per Wiccan ritual, directed toward the spirit.

Two witches lit sage sticks and walked around the candles, the incense cleansing the area of negative energies and spirits to clear the way for their “intentions” to rise up into the universe and to the Goddess Fortuna.

Priestess Rosalyn Windsong and Joanne Tsz Yan, wearing all black to reflect negativity, then stopped to ask for good energy and followed with a chant.

The Rev. Anthony Sirianni has been to Mount Zion in Jerusalem, a setting in the Hebrew scriptures where God appeared and gave blessings and strength.

The Knicks might benefit from a trip there. In the meantime, they got a blessing from Sirianni.

Sirianni would prescribe Our Fathers and Hail Marys, too, for any parishioners seeking divine intervention with the pingpong balls. It could take every last one to land the No. 1 pick and Williamson — from the “Holy Land of Duke,” Sirianni joked.

In her sessions, miracle healer and medical medium Donna McGrath usually asks why her clients have called. Where to start with the Knicks? The triangle?

Then McGrath goes back to the years when the trauma first happened. There’s plenty to choose from.

So into her left hand went all the losing and failed lotteries of years past. In the right, thoughts of 1985, Patrick Ewing and Zion Williamson.

McGrath, who usually lends her energy to help heal sick patients, offered her help for a team in need of a miracle of its own. She brought with her energy wands blessed by a guru in Australia, each with a different intention.

The aftermath of the 1985 lottery was filled with conspiracy theories that NBA executives had rigged it for the Knicks. The frozen envelope. The creased corner. A hand from the auditing firm.

There are plenty of safeguards against those in 2019, but perhaps Joey Stann could help. A shaman, Stann stood in the rain Friday offering to communicate telepathically with executives who will be in the room.

A group of religious leaders gathered at Madison Square Garden to bless the New York Knicks before NBA Draft Lottery Day. “Here in New York, we need all the help we can get, especially from the higher powers,” proclaimed Rabbi Adam Mintz. He is joined by a priest, a shaman, two witches, and a miracle healer, all praying for the Knicks to score the first pick: Zion Williamson.

Meet the Game of Thrones Stunt Double Who Does Arya Stark's Stunts | New York Post

https://nypost.com/2019/05/12/this-game-of-thrones-secret-turned-arya-stark-into-a-badass/

Meet Kristina Baskett, the stunt woman who whipped wide-eyed Arya Stark into a believable Night King killer. At 5-foot-2, she’s a near-perfect match for 5-foot-1 Emmy nominee Maisie Williams — and she’s got insider details to spill from the final days on set.

But first, this brunette butt-kicker wants us to know she didn’t set out to be a combat-ready, dagger-wielding leather mama.

“I did gymnastics my entire life and I was able to receive a scholarship to compete at the University of Utah, where I had an amazing experience,” Baskett, 31, tells The Post. “I became an NCAA champion on the uneven bars and a 12-time All-American, and I think that definitely set me up for a career in stunt doubling.”

After graduating in 2009, Baskett traded in her red-white-and-blue leotard for the sparkly spectacle of Sin City. She performed with “La Réve” at the Wynn Las Vegas casino resort for two years. Her signature move for the acrobatic/illusionist troupe was a show-stopping high-dive off a giant, multi-tiered fountain amid a high-tech light show.

She followed that splashy gig with her first stunt stint: Disney’s “Make It or Break It,” a gymnastics dramedy that ran from 2009 to 2012 on ABC Family.

She took the “Wild” risks Oscar nominee Reese Witherspoon couldn’t and racked up more than 75 screen credits before encountering the pop culture juggernaut that is HBO’s “GoT” in 2016.

“I remember waking up one morning to an email from the stunt coordinator on ‘Game of Thrones,’ asking if I’d be interested in joining the stunt team,” she says of the career milestone. “Of course, at first I was very excited. I’m definitely a big fan. I read all of the books before it was even a show.”

She was on set for the entire filming of episode 3 (i.e. the infamously dark Battle of Winterfell), which consisted of three months of all-night shoots.

However, Baskett claims the episode’s climactic moment — Arya’s fatal knife-drop fake-out with the Night King — is indeed enacted by Maisie herself.

Alas, a less high-profile action segment is Baskett’s own personal best from her three seasons on the series.

“Definitely my favorite sequence that I’ve done on the show is the chase scene through Braavos in season 6. It was so cool to actually run through the streets of Spain with a lot of action involved. I think one of the biggest things I’ve done for her character is the massive stair fall that happens during the chase scene. It was a never-ending fight of stone steps. It’s one of those where you’re like, ‘OK, I’m just gonna throw myself down these steps.’ ”

Indeed, executive producer/writer/co-creator David Benioff lauds her as “an excellent stuntwoman for the dangerous stuff” in HBO’s behind-the-scenes doc about the final season.

The surreal nature of this line of work is not wasted on Baskett. One minute she has a grenade in her hand, the next she’s swapped it for a cup of coffee with White Walkers.

“There are so many times when I’ll look around and say, ‘This is so strange. Our lives are so weird,’ ” she says, stifling a chuckle. “When they say action you have these scary White Walker stunt men running and growling at you, trying to kill you. Then as soon as they say cut you say, ‘Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry, did I hit you? Are you OK? Please let me know if I’m hurting you.’

“These random moments are some of the best memories of the show,” she says, admitting that the “very emotional” final days on set with a cast and crew that spent nearly a decade together had her “feeling the feels.”

“Game of Thrones” final season airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS! Game of Thrones stunt double Kristina Baskett helps actress Maisie Williams perform Arya Stark's stunts on the hit HBO show. In this interview, she opens up about her backstory, how she got the job, her toughest stunts, funnest moments, playing one of the Children of the Forest, and who ends up on the Iron Throne.

Meet the Game of Thrones Stunt Double Who Does Arya Stark's Stunts

From 'This ‘Game of Thrones’ secret turned Arya Stark into a badass' - https://nypost.com/2019/05/12/this-game-of-thrones-secret-turned-arya-stark-into-a-badass/

Clip 1 - Idiotic jewelry thief stopped by a door
December 4, 2018
A man attempted to steal a gold chain from a jewelry store in Choburi, Thailand, but made one major mistake. Suphachai Panthong tried to run off, but was blocked by a locked door. He was then forced to return the item, and authorities took the man into custody.

Clip 2 - Catfight breaks out at Miss BumBum contest over fake butt accusation -- By Sofia Petkar, The Sun November 6, 2018

This year’s Miss BumBum competition ended in a shambles after contestants resorted to violence on stage following cheating allegations.

The fight was sparked by one contestant accusing the other of having a surgically enhanced derriere.

The eye-popping scenes unfolded Monday shortly after Ellen Santana was crowned Miss BumBum 2018.

The 31-year-old model and dancer was representing the northern Brazilian state of Rondônia in the competition.

But moments after she was declared the winner, she was physically stripped of her winner’s sash by fellow contestant Aline Uva from Rio Grande Do Sul, in the south of Brazil.

Uva, a 27-year-old massage therapist, was heard shouting that the competition was a farce and claiming that the winner’s butt was surgically enhanced.

Organizers of the annual competition were forced to intervene to calm the frantic scene and ensure the winner’s sash was handed back to Santana.

The Miss BumBum competition has been held annually in Brazil since 2011.

It was founded by journalist and entrepreneur Cacau Oliver and aims to crown the best buttocks in Brazil.

Commenting on the fracas, Oliver said the drama was “part of the contest.”

The televised competition has 27 contestants who represent the country’s different states, with 15 women making it to the finals.

The winner receives 50,000 Brazilian Reals (about $13,300) in endorsement deals and instantly becomes a celebrity in Brazil.

This year’s competition saw the inclusion of two trans women for the first time, although this wasn’t accepted by all the participants.

Paula Oliveira, 27, said her rivals were just afraid to lose to someone born a man.

Clip 3 - Emotional support squirrel gets woman kicked off flight, passengers cheer
By Yaron Steinbuch October 10, 2018

A passenger was booted from a Frontier Airlines plane in Orlando after she came aboard with a nutty companion — a squirrel that she insisted was her emotional support animal.

The woman noted in her reservation that she was flying Tuesday night with an emotional support pet, but did not indicate that it was a squirrel, according to WKMG.

She refused to get off the Cleveland-bound flight, so the crew summoned police, who told the rest of the passengers to deplane so they could deal with the woman, the airline said.

It was not known if the unidentified woman would face charges.

Footage shared on Twitter showed the woman being removed from the plane in a wheelchair — as she flashed a middle finger to jeers from other passengers.

The flight took off for Cleveland after a two-hour delay.

Airlines cracked down on what animals passengers could use for emotional support after images of several unique creatures went viral earlier this year.

Several other airlines have updated their policies this year, including JetBlue and Delta, which also banned pit bulls, according to ABC News.

The airline will only accept cats or dogs, each passenger may only bring one animal, and notice must be provided 48 hours before departure, the network reported.

Breast Milk 'Goddess' Pumped Out 200,000 Ounces of Liquid Gold Over 4 Years | New York Post

https://nypost.com/2019/05/09/extreme-breast-milk-donor-has-been-pumping-4-years-straight/

This breast-feeding Portland mom has only two kids of her own, but she’s breaking records for feeding hundreds more.

Along with her two daughters, Isabella, 4 and Sophia, 2, Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra estimates she’s fed about 250 other babies with her breast milk, which she donates or sells at one dollar per ounce via a Facebook page, a common platform for the breast-milk black market.

The 31-year-old claims she’s an unofficial world-record holder for the number of ounces donated: In 2018, the official Guinness World Record was 53,081 ounces, but Anderson-Sierra tells The Post that to date she’s donated about 200,000.

Anderson-Sierra has hyperlactation syndrome, which causes her to produce 230 ounces of milk per day. That’s about eight times more than the average pumping mother, says Dr. Linda Dahl, a Midtown-based breast-feeding expert and ENT, who consults many over-producers in her practice. “It’s like they don’t have an off-switch,” Dahl says. “It’s a combination of hormones, and I bet most of her breast is made of glandular (milk-producing) tissue.”

The sale and private donation of breast milk is largely unregulated, but Anderson-Sierra could be held liable if her donations cause any harm or sickness.

Though milk banks for over-producers exist, the lengthy screening process and pasteurization makes the final product expensive. Anderson-Sierra says that she’s seen costs of up to $10 an ounce, while she charges just a dollar per ounce.

Anderson-Sierra, who keeps frozen bricks of breast milk in industrial-size freezers in her garage, connects with clients through social media. Kathy Yao, a mother of triplets who welcomed her babies through a surrogate, is grateful for Anderson-Sierra’s milk.

This woman’s milk production is a cut above the “breast.” Meet Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra, an extreme breast milk donor outside Portland, Oregon, who has shared over 200,000 ounces of her “liquid gold” with families in need — all at bargain-bin rates. She’s turned her hyperlactation syndrome into a thriving operation.

While the “pumping goddess” has become a one-of-a-kind social media influencer, her fame has also brought bizarre fetishists, breast milk-drinking bodybuilders and even robbers to her doorstep. Anderson-Sierra’s extraordinary story includes her year-long donation to baby Joaquin, whose mother died during Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

Instant Karma Compilation: Crab Pinches Tongue, Truck Down Cliff, Drunk in Mud | They Had It Coming

Fail 1 - Idiot almost gets tongue clawed off trying to impress his friends
October 16, 2018
A man in Tamil Nadu, India, learned that it’s not always worth it to impress your friends. Rama Rao was holding a live crab up to his face and sticking his tongue in between the animal’s claw. Not surprisingly, the sea creature clamped down, sending a pained Rao into a panic as he tried to free himself.

Fail 2 - Truck topples down cliff after driver ignored warnings
October 15, 2018
The California Department of Transportation really wants people to pay attention to the warnings they post on roadways. They released footage of a truck whose driver seemingly ignored length restrictions on a narrow part of a highway. While attempting to follow the curve of the road, the vehicle toppled over and fell down the side of an embankment.

Fail 3 - Drunk jogger gets stuck in the mud
October 17, 2018
A man in Thailand needed to be rescued after falling off a 16-foot pier and getting stuck in the thick mud below. Apparently he had been drinking and went jogging, and tripped off the structure. He was pulled to safety, but it took the help of construction workers and equipment to get the job done.

Friends don’t let friends put their tongue between the pincers of a giant crab — or do they? That’s only one group who tempts karma in this episode of “They Had It Coming,” which also features a dude getting so drunk, he literally gets stuck in the mud after falling off a pier, and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer tumbling off a cliff. It’s dumb people on camera doing dumb things, and justice being served.

Are you at risk of contracting measles if you’re already vaccinated? Dr. Mike Varshavski, a family medicine physician and Instagram star, explains. “The measles vaccines are 96 percent effective,” Dr. Mike says. “You will not be getting measles if you are vaccinated.” That said, because of unvaccinated communities, there is still some risk of spreading.

Symptoms to look out for include a high fever and eventually a rash that appears on day 3 or 4 of the illness. Most at risk are the very young, the very old and the immunocompromised. As for misinformation about the vaccine’s link to autism? “Flat-out not true,” warns Dr. Mike. More than 700 cases of measles have been reported in 2019.

Like the ageless rocker that it is, Webster Hall has had its share of setbacks — a huge fire in 1949 destroyed the original roof — and a few face-lifts over the years. Its latest nips and tucks include the installation of air conditioning — no more sweaty summer nights! — and its first-ever elevator: Now all that equipment will no longer have to be heaved up those winding stairs to the main ballroom.

Although the marble stairwells have been preserved, additional stairwells will help the party flow, while a remodeled lounge area makes room for more chilling and cocktailing. There’s also a new entryway on 11th Street (between Third and Fourth Avenues), but the iconic marquee remains the same.

As a new era at Webster Hall is set to begin, here’s a look back at some highlights of its 133-year history.

After opening in 1886 as a social hall where locals could hold events such as wedding receptions, the club later became known as “The Devil’s Playground” for hosting costume balls, drag balls and other risque affairs.

It was rumored that gangster Al Capone once owned the hall, which operated as a speakeasy during the Prohibition era. The club also became known as “The Devil’s Playhouse” for hosting costume and drag balls and other risqúe affairs, such as a contest for “Best Legs” in 1922.

From 1953 to 1968, RCA Records operated a studio out of the club, with the likes of Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra laying down tracks there, and cast recordings such as “How to Succeed in Business.” In 1961, Harry Belafonte used the studio to make his “Midnight Special” album, which featured Bob Dylan’s first professional recording, playing harmonica.

In 1980, Webster Hall was transformed into the Ritz, the storied New York rock club. All-time greats such as U2, Tina Turner, Prince and the Police played there before the Ritz relocated to the Studio 54 site in 1989.

In 1995, Madonna held her infamous pajama party at the club to launch her “Bedtime Stories” single. The event aired as an MTV special, with the Material Mom reading an actual bedtime story to fans.

The occasion was Jay-Z’s first performance at Webster Hall at the renovated club and concert space’s reopening on Friday night after being closed since August 2017. It’s been a while since a New York nightspot felt so much like the place to see and be seen. And it felt good.

When Jay-Z finally took the stage after 10 p.m. to inaugurate the new era of Webster Hall, the tuxedo-and-bow-tied rapper was taking his place alongside legends such as Frank Sinatra, Prince and Madonna who have made Webster Hall a music mecca in New York City.

Performing his “B-Sides 2” concert of material, such as “Allure” and “No Hook, ” that he rarely performs live – after doing the first “B-Sides” at Terminal 5 in 2015 — Jay treated the event like the moment it was. It was his own homecoming after wife Beyoncé had hers on Netflix last week.

Backed by a live band — and guests such as former rival Nas — Jay showed that he is every bit the musician as many of the other legends who have graced that stage. And by not doing any of his biggest hits, such as “Empire State of Mind” and “Big Pimpin’,” he tapped into an old New York vibe of people who were in the know and could rap along to the deepest of cuts.

If halls could talk, this one would scream. Webster Hall is making its triumphant return to the New York music scene, but few fans know this East Village spot’s long history. Dating back to 1886, this hallowed space housed everyone from suffragettes to Broadway legends like Carol Channing. But in 1980, Webster Hall found its true calling when it opened as The Ritz — a downtown venue for rock legends and unsigned bands to let loose. “It was still kind of a run-down New York City sh--hole, but it was awesome,” Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian said. “It was our sh--hole.” With a little help from Jay-Z, Webster Hall reopened its doors on April 26, 2019.
